Location

The school takes place at the Aldemar conference center at Hersonissos 25km from the international airport of Heraklion (Crete) with daily direct flights to all European capitals.

How to get to Heraklion, Crete

By air: Heraklion airport is the busiest airport in Greece during summer time, offering a large choice in (in often direct) regular and charter flights. Aegean Airlines is the major domestic carrier flying from Athens and other european capitals. Major car-rental companies have desks at the airport. A taxi to Heraklion costs about 6 Euro, and the public bus is 1 Euro.

By sea: There are daily ferries from Athens (Piraeus) to Heraklion, operated by Minoan Lines , Anek Lines and Superfast Ferries. There are taxis available as well as buses near the port. If you would like to rent a car, you need to get to the downtown area were there is a number of rental agencies (20 minutes walk or 2 minutes by taxi).


How to get to the conference venue/hotel Aldemar Knossos Royal in Hersonissos

By taxi: The most convenient method to get to the conference hotel/venue from all locations (airport / seaport / downtown) is to use a taxi. There are taxis as you exit the airport, harbour, and various locations downtown. The ride to Aldemar Knossos Royal Village is about 30 minutes and should cost approximately 50 Euros depending on traffic.

By car: From the airport / seaport / downtown area, get to the highway (follow signs to the National Road). On the highway, head East and follow the signs to Agios Nikolaos and/or Hersonissos.

By bus: Go to the bus station, which is located very close to the seaport. Take the bus to Hersonissos. Buses run every 30mins between 06:30-23:00. The fare is about 2.5 Euros. The ride is about 45 mins. Once you arrive in Hersonissos, you must take a taxi to the hotel/conference venue.
